Process Heat and Waste Heat Recovery

Factories and manufacturing plants often need process hot water for cleaning, sanitation or specific production steps, at a scale and continuity well beyond typical commercial demand. Many of these same facilities also generate waste heat — from compressors, refrigeration plant or the production process itself — that can be captured with a waste heat recovery heat pump rather than vented uselessly to the atmosphere.

Every industrial installation starts with a full engineering site survey, since process requirements, existing plant layout and available waste heat sources vary enormously between facilities. For laundry-scale continuous hot water demand specifically, see our commercial laundry page, or our general commercial & industrial heat pumps page for the broader engineering approach.

Common Questions

Heat Pump Solutions for Factories & Manufacturing — FAQs

Can a heat pump recover waste heat from our production process?

In many cases yes — if your process generates waste heat from compressors, refrigeration or production equipment, a waste heat recovery heat pump may be able to capture and reuse it. This is assessed during the engineering site survey.

What industries benefit most from industrial heat pumps?

Food processing, beverage manufacturing, textiles and any facility with continuous process hot water or sanitation demand tend to see the strongest returns.

How is an industrial heat pump system sized?

Sizing requires a full engineering assessment of process demand, existing plant infrastructure and available waste heat sources — we never quote industrial work without a site visit.

Do you offer maintenance contracts for factories?

Yes, scheduled maintenance contracts are available and recommended given the continuous operating demands of most industrial sites.
